Although we have a full service
department to help you get
your hot tub back into working order, there are a
few things you should check to avoid an unnecessary
service call.
Dirty Filters
- Often we find that a heating problem is caused by
dirty filters, which reduce the water flow through
the heater and can trip a high limit or not provide
enough flow to close a pressure switch. Most hot tubs
will give you a "FL or Flo" error message
if there is a flow problem. A quick way to check and
see if this is the case is to turn the hot tub off
and remove the filter. Turn the hot tub back on and
wait a few hours to see if it is heating again. If
it is you need to clean or replace the filter, if
not you may need to schedule a service call.
Breaker/GFCI
- If nothing is working, check to see if the breaker
or GFCI is tripped. Sometimes breakers don't look
like they are tripped when they really are, so to
check them you should first turn them off then back
on. A GFCI has a reset button you need to push to
reset it if it has been tripped. If this fixes the
problem you should be fine. If nothing happens or
if it trips each time you try to reset you need to
have a technician troubleshoot the problem for you.
System Reset
- Sometimes for a variety of reasons a digital system
will shutdown and if there are no other problems all
you need to do is reset it. This is easily done by
shutting off the power for a few minutes then turning
it back on. If this doesn't solve the problem you
will probably need to have your hot tub checked out.
Water Level
- A low water level can cause a number of problems
from not heating, to jets surging, to no jets and
more. Make sure the water level is up to the proper
level. You may have to turn the hot tub off and back
on after you fill it back up to reset the sensors
and turn your jets on to prime the pump again.
Error Codes
- If you can not resolve the problem then you may
need to have a technician troubleshoot the hot tub
for you. If you call to schedule a technician please
let us know if there are any error codes displayed
on your topside control. These codes can be displayed
in a variety of ways, a few letters; several dots
or bars (flashing or not), or a heater light that
is not on or flashing (short or long).
